Seven Energy Begins Supply of Gas to Calabar NIPP - Nigeria

Seven Energy International Limited (“Seven Energy”), the indigenous Nigerian integrated gas Company has commenced the supply of gas to the 560 MW Calabar National Integrated Power Project (“NIPP”). The commercial delivery of gas to Calabar NIPP commenced in March 2015, and is being executed through Accugas, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seven Energy. When operating at full capacity Calabar NIPP will increase national power generation by over 10%.

Unconventional gas explorer Challenger Energy (ASX code: CEL, CELO) is pleased to advise that its subsidiary, Bundu Gas and Oil Exploration Pty Ltd (Bundu) has reviewed and revised its Environmental Management Programme (EMPr) originally submitted in 2010 in support of its application for a shale gas exploration Right in South Africa’s Karoo Basin, as requested by PASA, the Petroleum Agency SA (ASX 27 October 2014).

IFC promotes Nigerian independent power projects with Azura-Edo investment

IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, signed agreements to provide $80 million of debt financing to Azura Power West Africa Limited, a 450 MW gas-fired independent power project in Nigeria (the Azura-Edo IPP). The project will strengthen Nigeria's gas-to-power value chain and deliver much-needed electricity to almost 14 million residential consumers in the country.

Challenger Energy - South African Government to Proceed with Processing

Dana Gas signs landmark Gas Production Enhancement Agreement in Egypt

Dana Gas’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Dana Gas Egypt, has concluded a Gas Production Enhancement Agreement (GPEA) with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) and the Egyptian General Petroleum Company (EGPC). This landmark agreement forms the basis for an important development program to eventually increase production from current levels of over 40,000 BOEPD from the Company’s Development Leases in the Nile Delta. 

American Capital Energy & Infrastructure's Azura-Edo Power Project Receives $50 Million Financing Commitment from OPIC

American Capital Energy & Infrastructure ("ACEI") announced today that the Overseas Private Investment Corporation ("OPIC"), the U.S. Government's development finance institution, has approved up to $50 million in direct financing to support construction and operation of the Azura-Edo power plant project near Benin City in Edo State, Nigeria.  The Azura-Edo power project is a 459MW open cycle gas turbine power station that begins construction in 2014 and represents the first phase of a potential 1,000MW power plant facility.  

Pilot Borehole Completed Under Wouri River for Bonaberi Gas Supply, Cameroon

VOG, the emerging Cameroon utility company, announces that drilling of a 678m single shot pilot borehole was completed under the Wouri River to Bonaberi in Douala, Cameroon on 31 July 2014. Once the borehole is reamed out and all pipework connected and tested, this extension will open a new market for Gaz du Cameroun (”GDC”), the wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. Eleven Gas Supply Agreements (”GSAs”) have been signed to date with Bonaberi customers and others are under negotiation. 

Noble Energy Announces Letter Of Intent With Union Fenosa Gas For The Export Of Tamar Natural Gas To Existing LNG Facility

Noble Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NBL) today announced the execution of a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) between the Tamar field partners and Union Fenosa Gas SA (UFG) for the supply of natural gas from Tamar, offshore Israel, to UFG's existing natural gas liquefaction facilities in Egypt.

Logbaba Project Update - Cameroon

Victoria Oil and Gas Plc, the emerging African energy utility company, today announces that its operating subsidiary, Gaz du Cameroun S.A ("GDC"), will commence the 1km gas pipeline crossing under the Wouri River to Bonaberi. GDC has completed initial project planning, including environmental and safety analyses and has received all the necessary permits, including the grant of Certificate of Environmental Conformity by the Minister in Charge of Environment, Nature protection and Sustainable Development.

Certification of Prospective Resources Block 2A - Offshore South Africa

Southern African gas explorer and developer, Sunbird Energy Ltd (ASX:SNY) is pleased to announce the completion of an Independent Resource Assessment of Block 2A in South Africa. Sunbird holds a 76% interest in the block and is the nominated operator. Block 2A is currently in year 5 of a 30 year production right from the Department of Mineral Resources, South Africa.
